Starting a relationship with Jesus is simple and life-changing. It begins by acknowledging who Jesus is — that He lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross for our wrongs, and rose to bring us back into right relationship with God. When we trust in His sacrifice, God renews and forgives us.
To accept Jesus as Lord and Savior means two things: believing He is the Son of God who paid the price for our sins, and choosing to follow Him as the leader of your life. This is a personal step you take by faith — not by doing good things first, but by trusting what Christ has already done for you.
Baptism is the public step that follows deciding to follow Jesus. It symbolizes what God has done inside you — dying to your old life and rising to a new life in Christ. It’s not what saves you, but it’s an obedience and celebration of the new relationship you have with God.
